The log splitters on offer are powered by hydraulics’, electricity, and petrol – very useful for splitting firewood from soft or hardwood logs for wood fires and ovens.
Log splitters are available in petrol or electric. For an easy to use log splitter suitable for smaller jobs with the safety features of a kill switch and anti-vibration legs, the economical petrol models will do the job nicely.
Log splitters are designed for splitting logs, including hardwood and firewood. They’re commonly used in home wood shops to split firewood in preparation for burning in a wood stove. They’re available in petrol-driven, electrically powered and pneumatic versions that deliver different levels of power.
As well as saving hours of manual labour, log splitters can be used in home and commercial surroundings to produce fast and efficient results regardless of the size of your job. All our splitters are reliable, certified safety approved, and can perform to a high level regardless of the conditions you’re working in. The log splitters we have in stock are wise purchases for the long and short term.
A log splitter is a machine that splits wood, typically firewood. There are several types of log splitters: Hand-powered, hydraulic and electric. Hand-powered models work by using a wedge, either a sharpened metal point or a blade, which is forced under the log and then struck with a splitting maul or sledgehammer to force the log apart. Hydraulic units consist of two cylinders containing pistons at either end. One cylinder applies pressure to the wood while the other is moved up and down in order to split the wood.
